On Sunday 13th October at 5.30 p.m. at the Hall of Honour of Villa Manin the last concert of the 31st edition of the ‘Sunday Concerts’ review organised by the Musical and Cultural Association ‘City of Codroipo’ will take place.
The Brassmen brass group of the ‘Armonie’ musical association of Sedegliano will perform a musical itinerary through the history of narrative music. Starting from the notes of the most significant works in the musical context of the 19th century (Verdi, Wagner, etc.), the route changes from the stage of European theatre to that of cinema and American style. A highly evocative journey that aims to immerse the audience in a truly emotional context in the evocative setting of Villa Manin, pearl of Middle Friuli.
Brassmen brass quintet
Born in 2018 from the irresistible passion for music that unites its elements, the ‘Brassmen’ quintet consists of Massimo and Cristian on trumpet, Riccardo on trombone, Fabio on horn and Federico on bass trombone. The group came together to play together while having fun, but then, note after note, evolved, opening up various opportunities to play in public as well. The quintet’s first concert took place on 30 November 2018 in the church of Basiliano to celebrate St Andrew. This event, which was also repeated in the following years, was followed by the double participation in the walk ‘Quattro passi nella storia, nell’arte…e nella musica’ in spring 2019 and October 2020, the inauguration of the international exhibition ‘Acquerello del Doge’ at the BancaTer exhibition hall in Codroipo on the occasion of Saint Simon in 2019, the realisation of a concert for organ and brass presented in Coderno in September 2021 and the participation in the season in Lignano Sabbiadoro ‘Frammenti d’infinito… 2022 – Custodi dell’Ascolto’ and other events held in the provinces of Pordenone and Udine. Of note is certainly the collaboration with maestros Giorgio and Cristian Cozzutti (directors of the choirs of the ‘Sante Sabide’ Music Association in Goricizza) for the organisation on 7 December 2019 of the Christmas concert ‘Mundus Renovatus Est a Christo’, held in the cathedral in Codroipo. The concert saw the fusion of the two associations with the groups performing both individually and together, thanks to the valuable work of maestro Fabrizio Fontanot in writing the pieces for the occasion. The group’s repertoire is vast: in addition to ranging from classical to contemporary music, it also plays cartoon or film soundtracks. The music that the group performs, as in the case of the collaboration with the Sante Sabide choir, is often elaborated by maestro Fabrizio Fontanot, artistic and musical director of ‘Armonie’.
