Riccardo Muti will conduct the 130 elements of the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra, founded in 2004 on his initiative and composed of extraordinary instrumentalists aged between 18 and 30. The only scheduled date in the entire Northeast will be held on Sunday 20 July 2025 at Villa Manin in Codroipo (UD), organised by FVG Music Live and VignaPR in collaboration with ERPAC FVG, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and PromoTurismoFVG.
From 2010 to 2023 he was Music Director of the prestigious Chicago Symphony Orchestra and
at the end of his term the Orchestra appointed him Music Director Emeritus for Life. Over the course of his extraordinary career, Riccardo Muti has conducted many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras: from the Berliner Philharmoniker to the Bayerischer Rundfunk, from the New York Philharmonic to the Orchestre National de France, the London Philharmonia and, of course, the Vienna Philharmonic, with whom he has enjoyed an assiduous and meaningful relationship and with whom he has performed at the Salzburg Festival since 1971. He has been awarded more than 20 honorary degrees from the world’s leading universities and has received countless honours: the Cavaliere di Gran Croce of the Italian Republic, the Verdienstkreuz of the Federal Republic of Germany; the Legion of Honour in France (formerly a Chevalier, in 2010 President Nicolas Sarkozy awarded him the title of Officer and in January 2024 the French Ambassador, Martin Briens, conferred on him the title of Commendatore on behalf of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron), the title of Knight of the British Empire conferred on him by Queen Elizabeth II, and many others.
