Raising awareness and promotion of cultural assets, the Region’s common heritage via the Internet-based Regional Cultural Heritage Information System, consisting of a database and WebGIS, in conjunction with universities, heritage departments, public and private bodies.
The west exedra (semi-circular wing) houses a library specialising in the cataloguing, conservation, restoration and promotion of cultural assets. It contains a section dedicated to the history and artistic heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The total number of books and publications amounts to approximately 20,000 volumes and 250 specialist journals.
The Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia safeguards the books that make up its cultural heritage through its cultural heritage department (ERPAC). ERPAC performs this role by identifying the books making up the region’s bibliographic resources through information-gathering and then guaranteeing their protection and preservation for public use.
This commemorates worldwide migration from Friuli Venezia Giulia. The large digital archive contains photographs, paper documents and recorded interviews illustrating the various stages of migration and the host countries.
