Open day at Villa Manin

The round square of Villa Manin hosts on Monday 28 April the 4th edition of the conclusive event of Tagghiamo la Scuola FVG, the route organised by ASD OverBugLine Rugby Codroipo that from October to date has brought knowledge of rugby to schools, using the ‘Rugby TAG’ version, i.e. without contact.
Students from primary schools (for grades 4 and 5) and secondary schools in the region will be accompanied to Villa Manin by coach and driven back to school by the end of school hours. Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt and the new schools participating in the event will receive a Rugby TAG kit for future activities.
In the breaks between matches, the young athletes will also be able to try out other sports and exciting proposals. Demonstration playing fields and flight simulators from the ‘Nobile’ Aviation College in Fagagna will also be set up.
This year there will be students from Basiliano, Castions di Strada, Codroipo, Faedis, Flaibano, Lestizza, Lignano Sabbiadoro, Mortegliano, Povoletto, Sedegliano, Spilimbergo , Talmassons and Udine.
What is Rugby TAG
Rugby Tag takes place without any contact between the athletes, to suit both boys and girls and former youngsters. Very colourful and fun, disciplined and respectful, to be played without risk. The tackle (an action by one or more players, aimed at stopping the advance of the opponent who is in possession of the ball) is replaced by the taking of the tag or flag, i.e. a strip of fabric hanging from the belt.
A few simple rules and it can also be played in the gymnasium, in teams of five players, even mixed. So, after learning rugby tag and training from the beginning of the school year in the gyms of their schools with the Rugby at School project, thanks to the efforts of Riccardo Sironi, who founded the OverBugLine Codroipo in 2014 (a club that deals with the Propaganda sector and up to the Under 14s, of which he is the technical director), going into schools to propose the sport to disabled athletes as well. Once again this year, the young schoolchildren of Friuli Venezia Giulia will have the opportunity to compete in an incredibly fascinating scenario such as the garden between the exedras of Villa Manin in Passariano di Codroipo (UD).
